Without a doubt the best halibut I have ever had and their Bearnaise sauce incredible!

This is probably one of the most unique dining experiences you can have in the area. Be warned that there are not too many options for anyone who suffers from lactose intolerance or gluten allergy. With that said, everyone was courteous and the steak that I had was pretty delicious.

This is the place to go if you are looking for a romantic dinner. The restaurant is very quiet and we have never seen any children there. The meal is five courses and the service is excellent. I have been many times and have never been disappointed. Make sure to get a reservation beforehand or you may not get a table for quite some time. This is my favorite place to go for a steak that is cooked to perfection. The restaurant is clearly visible from the street but is easily passed so pay attention. More parking is on the west side (down-hill side) but the entrance is not clearly labeled. No other problems to report and I can overlook that minor issue because of how delicious all of the food is.

Went in February 2013. Ordered fillet Oscar and the asparagus was grey green-- way over cooked. Not good ever! Especially when you pay 43.00 you expect the 'chef' to be able to pull off a simple cooked asparagus-considering there are only 3 sprigs of asparagus it's not that difficult to do. Also, the steak was cooked unevenly. I guess when you are only open 4 days a week, your 'chef' and wait staff aren't that vested in the business. Heard the term "I'm sorry" approximately 16 times (not even directed to me and my guest but other diners as well) from the minute we walked in the door to when we left. Sad. This place used to be ran solid about a decade ago...with so many new great restaurants in SLC, I will choose another one with better food next time.

This place was a lot of fun, from the decor to the get-up of the wait staff (not quite serving wench style, but bordering). Don't go unless you're fairly hungry and committed; the 5 course meals can take some time to get through. The food is all pretty good, though some of it I picked through and skipped on the way to the main course as it wasn't good enough for me to fill up on and I wanted to pace myself. I had no issues with any of the food at all and while I wouldn't say any of it was top notch, nothing there was a slouch to me at all, either. The steak, in particular, stood out as particularly good. As with all themed restaurants, ambiance and experience is really the big thing here, though the place struck me as probably dimmer than necessary. It's a very intricate sort of dining experience and a very specialized one. It is the sort of special event thing one probably wants to save rather than dragging the entire family along. I think it would take a very special patient sort of kid to sit through a dining experience that can't be done in an hour and probably will longer than that to get to dessert. The only sort of dilemma I ran into was when they ran out of Guinness (they were serving it to me in the same bottles you can get at grocery stores), which is inexcusable to me for any restaurant that wants to serve beer, let alone one at this level, though the food was not enough to rise to the 5 star arena anyway. The wait staff was very attentive and amiable and I have nothing but good things to say there. This is definitely not a place to try to go into casually, however.

This was by far the worst food I have ever had. For $40 we got cheap meatballs that I could have bought at Costco, some strawberries, an iceberg lettuce salad, a tiny filet that was overcooked with burnt mushrooms on it and 2 overcooked fried shrimp. The local Chinese take out does better at frying shrimp. I truly wish that someone would step in and show this chef how to cook. I would have rather eaten at Chili's than this place. Don't waste your money here. Besides the food being terrible, they ran out of everything on a Saturday night for a 5:30 seating. Very poor planning.

Love this place. The staff is always great and you never leave wanting. Their steaks are wonderful. My husband and I have made it a tradition to go on our anniversary each year. It's quiet and fun. All the courses are very good.

This place is supposed to be dated in the medieval times but its more stuck in the '70s. All of the food is covered in heavy cream sauces (even the veg). All of us ordered steaks and they were all over cooked. Mine was supposed to be med-rare and it was closer to well done (barely pink in the middle) The atmosphere is nice in a sort of cheesy way, the sourdough bread is AMAZING. The pork chop looked really great (didn't try it). It's fun to do the 5 course but the overcooked steaks were a major bummer. Steaks make up a large part of their menu, they should do them better. The service was excellent and the only thing that saved this from being 1 star. Our server did ask if we wanted new steaks, but it was kind of too late. I went there 20 years ago and will be back in another 20 years regardless of the food.

Five Alls is great! The atmosphere is dimly lit and full of old-world charm. The service is wonderful and our server, Cori, was superb!! What a sweetheart! The 5 courses were all very good. Lots of fresh, high-quality ingredients. I loved the spicy meatballs and my filet mignon was an extremely high-quality cut and was prepared to perfection.. It seems like most of the patrons are "regulars" and the staff treats everyone like a valued frequent diner. Corkage is only $8 so take a bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy!

Five Alls... Not "The Five Alls"... (I used to waitress here, so you'd think I'd know... ;) My husband and I try to come here at least once a year. It's something we do for special occasions because it's so yummy! And it is a bit on the costly side for a young couple, but you get so much food, it is a good value. So, Five Alls=Five Courses. The Five Alls are old English: The King (I rule All) The Parson (I Pray for All) The Lawyer ( I Plead for All) The Soldier (I Fight for All) and the Taxpayer (I Pay for All) But, you don't need to know that. You need to know that you'll be met with 5 courses, regardless of what you order. First, the Island shrub (a pineapple/ Sprite slushee) and breadsticks/ clam cream-cheese dip. --Delightful!!! Then, meatballs, (formed from ground filet mignon) with a burgundey wine sauce. *Awesomeness!* Next, bread, (sourdough and white rolls served with butter) and salad--green salad with dressing of your choice, sunflower seeds, green olives...pure radness. Then, your entree. Get the crab legs if you're there in the summertime. The filet Oscar otherwise. (Filet Mignon with asparagus spears, crab flakes and hollandaisse sauce.) By this point, you'll be stuffed and feel fat. But, as part of your "5 Alls" you get dessert. So, either spring $2 for their delightful cheesecake, or take the included raspberry sorbet and coffee dessert. Really, you'll leave happy.

Five Alls has been a favorite for me and my girlfriend "Babe" for more than 20 years. Flemmings and Christophers are two other places with similar cusine/prices, but Five Alls is better when you feel like having a more peaceful dining experience. Besides the quaint/quiet atmosphere, the filets are fabulous. Babe likes the Filet Oscar and I enjoy on the Filet Roquefort. It is best to call ahead and make a reservation - Serval nights they have been completely booked, so you either plan ahead or just get lucky. Parking in the rear and coming up the back stairs is weird, but oh well ... Everything else is great!

Perfect for a romantic dinner, they go out of the way to make it special. The workers are very kind and professional. You will not leave hungry! Course after course of delicious fare. I can't say enough good about this hidden treasure on the hill.

Five Alls. Heard so much good about it, and I have no idea why. It is among the most kitschy restaurants I've ever visited, and the food ranged from decent (the meatballs and the banana juice) to downright bad (wilted lettuce salad, Wal-Mart quality steak). The place has not been updated in years, and the furnishings show it (chairs are worn, covered in spills/stains, etc.). You can get so much more (good) atmosphere, better food, etc. at so many places in the city.

My husband proposed to me here, so we like to go back for our anniversary every few years. In the past, this place has not disappointed! It's been charming! You eat off of pewter, soup, salad, an array of breads, and dessert are all included with your main dish. The atmosphere is almost like eating in an Old English tavern. All usually adding to the quality experience. We returned for our anniversary last night after being out of state for 4 years, and were very disappointed. The place seems to have not been kept up in years. The seats were stained. What should be pink is a gray color. There are crumbs tucked in the seats that seem to have been there for quite some time. And the carpets were in need of a major cleaning. In addition, the whole place smelled stale and there were weeds outside instead of a little English garden as it was before. The food was average, but both my husband and I felt like we would have received better quality at Texas Roadhouse- and for a lot less money. He ordered the stuffed pork chop and I had the New York steak. The total bill with tip was exactly $100. NOT money worth spent. Since you can get the same meal with an appetizer, salad, drink, and dessert in other places for less money, I can only assume that Five Alls is charging for the atmosphere. As I mentioned, in the past the money was well spent for a charming evening and good food. This time, we left feeling like we probably would not return and that it was not worth the money.

Service: The service was good, the room was maybe only 1/4 full on Thursday so they weren't horribly busy. Hours: The hours are pretty bad, they are only open for Dinner on Thurs-Sat, that's it. Food: The food was just OK at best. - First Course - For the first course they brought out a plate with some fingerling bread and a cup with something like a Dill dip for the bread. The bread was cold and didn't appear to be fresh, but overall it was pretty good. Along with the bread they brought out a large soup sized bowl with a single tiny meatball (maybe the size of a nickel). While the meatball was fine, it was so tiny in such a large bowl it just didn't make sense. Why wouldn't you put at least 3 meatballs in a bowl that size, or maybe skip it all together. They also brought out a small citrus cocktail which was actually pretty good. - Second Course - They brought out a shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was cleaned, and detailed, it was room temperature and was served in a bowl over a bed of lettuce with a pretty standard cocktail sauce. There were about 5 shrimp in total. The shrimp was fine, but not really anything different than what I could pick up in a grocery store. - Third Course - For this course they brought out a salad in the same sized bowl as the sad lonely meatball I got previously. The salad was ok, it was a mix of lettuce, with carrots, some broccoli and cauliflower, it had some very strong overpowering stuffed green olives in there as well, and the ranch was very thick, creamy, and strong. The lettuce was slightly wilted as you can see in the pics. Along with the Salad they also brought out a couple of slices of bread, along with some butter and sour cream to go along with it. One slice was some sort of artisan garlic bread which was actually quite good, the second was a sour dough bread which was fine at first but had a very strong bitter/sour after taste which was not pleasant. - Fourth Course - For the main course I got the Fillet-Oscar. I ordered this Medium-Well, but it came fairly dry and Well Done. The meat, was still tender however which at least tells me they are using quality meat. It was covered with crab and asparagus then topped with some crazy strong sauce. The peas on the plate were also covered in a sauce (hollandaise) which again was way too much and way too strong. Along with this I also received a baked potato that was hard on the outside with very little going on inside despite getting it loaded with cheese and bacon. The steak its self had little flavor, it seems like they were counting on the sauces to carry the flavors which seems to have been the theme through out the meal. - Fifth Course - For Desert I went ahead and upgraded to one of their "Premium" deserts, the Cheesecake. It was clearly homemade which was a good sign, and the flavors were just OK, but it was not very consistent with textures or flavors. The raspberry topping was pretty bitter if eaten alone and was only viable when eaten with the cheesecake. Overall, the meal was just barely OK. It was not by any means an exceptional meal and was certainly not the rustic meal I was expecting based on their website. At the very least the fillet they are using appears to be high quality, but then they ruin it with their presentation choice making it swim in some strong sauce. The best things in the meal were all things that they probably didn't prepare themselves. It is certainly not worth the hour long drive, nor the crazy limited hours, nor the ridiculous price on par with Ruth's Chris. Based on my experiences here, I simply cannot and would not recommend this restaurant. For the $65 cost per person there are significantly better options available. - To The Owners - If you read this I think you are in serious trouble. You have a store front that cannot be seen unless you know what to look for. Even knowing exactly where you were and what to look for I couldn't tell if you were open and active when I arrived. Even worse, if you actually did do well I have no idea where your customers would all park since parking is so limited. Despite the basic problems listed above, you also face very serious problems with your food. It is such a shame that you are doing all the crazy things you are with the menu instead of focusing on a much more rustic, but good quality food like your website would lead us to believe. If something like a Fillet is cooked correctly, you have no need to smother it in sauces as it will have all the flavor it needs. The crab that topped my steak was inedible because of the sauce, and the peas were not much better off. Sadly your food across the board was pretty lacking. For $65 per person I expect near perfect food across the board. If you are not able to provide that then it may be worth looking into simplifying the menu. There were many things that didn't make much sense to me during the meal.

I was hoping to give a better review for this place. For the price you pay, the food just wasn't worth it. I got overcooked jumbo shrimp. My husband got an average filet mignon. It's a set menu, so the only thing you get to pick is your main course. The salad had about 3 pieces of lettuce and the rest was filled with huge florets of broccoli and cucumber (not my idea of a salad), the soup was not good and they give a meatball as an hors d'oeuvre and it was not that good. It was a fun place for some interesting ambiance but not a place I would probably ever go to again.

Five Alls is delicious. It is not somewhere where you should go if you're in a hurry or want your food fast. It takes a while for the owner to cook everything. But it is delicious. Very beautiful atmosphere. Great environment.
